Chadsworth’s 1.800.COLUMNS Plain Authentic Replication Columns with Tuscan Capitals were used throughout The Ocean Club, when it was recently remodeled. The columns maintain the ‘classical feel’ that is so important in preserving the ambiance of the property. Columns are a classical architectural element that blends perfectly with any décor. “We were pleased to be a part of the renovation and restoration of this beautiful old property,” says Jeffrey L. Davis, Founder and Principal Designer of Chadsworth’s 1.800.COLUMNS, “it was gratifying to see our columns on the Ocean Club, and to see the difference they made.”

COLUMN DESIGN: Authentic Replication Wood. Plain, round, tapered column shaft. Tuscan capitals and Tuscan base moldings / plinths.
COLUMN MATERIAL: Exterior Redwood
COLUMN SIZE: 16″ x 10′
PROJECT LOCATION: Nassau, Bahamas (Paradise Island)
PROJECT COMMENTS: Chadsworth provided the exterior Tuscan wood columns for the luxurious private resort, The One & Only Ocean Club, in Nassau, Bahamas. The plinths are vented to allow cylindrical airflow to go up and down the column shaft, which will help preserve the wood columns for a longer period of time. Our columns can be seen in several movies – most noticeably in the James Bond Movie, Casino Royale.
Chadsworth’s 1.800.COLUMNS are featured on The Learning Channel’s Moving Up, a new series hosted by Doug Wilson where three families are guided through the process of a major move.
Premiering in January 2005, the 15-part series follows a chain of new homeowners who move into one another’s homes and begin the design and renovation process that occurs during the first six months of adjusting to their new home. There are many decisions to make and numerous design choices and renovations to implement. Taste is testing in Moving Up and host Doug Wilson is there to invoke fond memories and humorous observations. Each episode is rerun on TLC throughout the year.
Viewers will follow both the buyers and sellers as they move into, renovate and redecorate their new homes. They will visit the homeowners every few weeks to see how the renovations are going. A few months after the move, they will see how the families have decorated their new houses, and then Doug takes the previous owners back to see the changes made to their old homes.
The British Broadcasting Corporation, producers of Moving Up asked Chadsworth’s 1.800.COLUMNS to participate in several episodes of the show. Chadsworth PolyStone® Columns were used in two episodes of Moving Up, this year. “We are happy to participate, as well as educate, people about our columns,” says Jeffrey L. Davis, Founder of Chadsworth Incorporated.

From Floral Fetish to Field of Dreams. On the New Jersey Shore, floral embellishment and bland beige decor give way to whimsical femininity. Doug Wilson mediates when homeowners return to their old house and critique what the new owners have done to their home.
And in Harlem Hardware Headache, a young couple is moving to Harlem, but the apartment they’re buying is too masculine for their taste. The current owner is attached to his sleek bachelor pad with columns at the entrance, which hold special significance for him.
For Your Home has been public television’s premiere home and garden series for over nine years. Vicki Payne and her daughter Sloan Payne-Rutter take the guesswork out of Do-It-Yourself projects for the home. They show viewers ‘how to do it’ with easy to understand, step-by-step instructions for projects that range from creating a playroom that doubles as a comfortable spot for overnight guests, to creating an outdoor Pergola.
Vicki talked with Jeff about Chadsworth’s new Classical Pergola Line. They also discussed how you could add character to your home by using columns on the interior as well as the exterior. By adding a pergola, your yard will become another ‘room,’ where you and your family will want to spend all your time during the summer and into the fall. Choose from a 2, 4, 6, or 8-column ‘pergola kit’ that you can buy and install yourself.
“For Your Home is a great place to launch our new line of our ‘pergola kits,’ ” said Davis, “viewers will actually see an 8-column custom pergola being built on the show.”
For Your Home inspires viewers to make improvements to their homes and gardens, under the able guidance of experts Vicki and Sloan. This dynamic mother and daughter duo are talented, interesting and fun to watch! For Your Home is seen on public television stations nationwide, as well as in Canada and Japan. FamilyNet and GoodLife cable networks also carry the show.
