COLUMN DESIGN:  Authentic Replication (Architectural) fluted wood columns.  Decorative Roman Doric capital and Ionic (Attic) base moldings / plinths.

PROJECT COMMENTS:  Chadsworth’s Wood Columns were featured on the television series, This Old House, for an interior residential project.  It featured architectural Roman Doric columns with Roman Doric Renaissance capitals and Ionic (Attic) base moldings / plinths that were made of wood.  Also, notice the fluted Roman Doric Renaissance pilaster that precedes the round column before the main dining area.  This is known as an “Ante-column.” Ante – the Greek pre-fix meaning “before.”

PROJECT COMMENTS:  A custom octagonal wood column by Chadsworth Incorporated supports the upper level in the rustic farmhouse of award-winning designer, Mary Douglas Drysdale.  The column features a plain, tapered 10″ x 7′-02″ shaft with a matching octagonal Roman Doric capital.  Mary Douglas Drysdale recommends Chadsworth Columns, as seen in her comments in Veranda Magazine.

PROJECT COMMENTS:  Chadsworth’s 1-800-COLUMNS provided (2) – 12″ x 7′-10-1/4″ fluted, round Roman Corinthian wood columns as well as (6) – 10″ x 7′-10-1/4″ Roman Corinthian wood pilasters for a private residence in Massachusetts.  The pilasters have a custom base and the round columns have Ionic (Attic) base moldings / plinths.

Chadsworth Provides Columns for the Beauvoir Playhouse

Provides Columns for the
BEAUVOIR PLAYHOUSE
Designed for the Beauvoir School’s Annual Auction
The Beauvoir School is a private elementary school – located
in Washington, D.C. – that was founded in 1933 on the basis of
implementing a diverse educational atmosphere
for primary level students.
 
Every spring, an auction is hosted by the Beauvoir’s Parents
Association to raise money for the Beauvoir Scholarship Fund –
which provides financial aid to students for their tuition costs.
 
And Chadsworth’s 1-800-COLUMNS is proud to have provided
the Greek Doric columns for the Beauvoir Playhouse, which will
be displayed in front of the school for a month before the auction.
