The Architecture and Planning of Windsor

Windsor is an early example of a New Urbanism development by renowned town planners and architects Andrés Duany and Elizabeth Plater-Zyberk. This event offers a rare opportunity to spend a day within Windsor’s gates, studying its well crafted architecture and inspirational plan. An informative introduction to Windsor by its Director of Planning, Luis Van Cotthem will be followed by a comprehensive evaluation of its architecture by Scott Merrill. Following lunch, Luis will lead a guided walking tour of the public buildings, allowing time for sketching and photography along the way. The walk ends in the residential South Village where architect Peter D. Moor will guide a tour of a private residence of his design. Visit the Florida Chapter Web site for complete event details.

WILMINGTON, N.C., April 1, 2002 — The Institute, associated with the prestigious New York Academy of Art, provides educational programs for in-depth instruction in the classicism of design, decoration, construction, and preservation of architecture.  The Institute provides current and future members a chance to receive advance training in classical building, in both its technical and artistic dimensions.

in the figurative tradition.  With its significant program in architectural studies, the Academy of Art is the foremost institution in the world dedicated to representational art instruction.
